I am John L, a former adolescent patient at this facility. I just got discharged yesterday, and I have to say, that this place (at least it's adolescent unit) is amazing. The fellow patients are so kind supportive and relatable, and the staff members are kind and attentive. Their group sessions have helped me a lot here, they can help you, if you will let them. I even made a really good friend there that Im really going to be sad over and miss. And I lost a little bit of weight by eating only salads and yogurt parfaits and exercising in the weight room in the community gym. I highly recommend this place to all fellow adolescents that are in need of help.

I went to Laurelwood Windsor for a 5 day medical detox for drug addiction. If you have no insurance, the cost is $750 per day. I paid roughly $3,800 for 5 days. I checked in around 8:00 pm and was given a mix of 5 different medication to deal with withdraw symptoms. There are 30 patients overseen by 1 doctor. I saw the doctor 3 times in 5 days. There are activities each day but most of them were pretty boring and did not help with my addiction. There is an outdoor area where you can smoke cigs which was the best thing about this facility. Each unit of the hospital has 30 minutes to eat each meal. If you are at the back of the line waiting to get your food, you will be lucky to have 10 total minutes to eat each meal. The unit I was in is understaffed. I was given more pills in this facility then I was taking out on the streets to get high. They give you heavily prescribed sleeping pills to make sure 3rd shift employees have no issues with patients sleeping. My medications I was prescribed were not thoroughly explained to me and it made me a zombie for 5 days. Their AA meetings are a complete joke. Out of 30 pateients, maybe 15 would show up on a daily basis. The 2 lead AA speakers were ok. Once had no energy and the other woman was the best AA lead I’ve ever listened to. Out of the 30 patients, I was the only one who paid cash money and had no insurance. The staff tried to tell me what to do, but I had to remind them that I can leave whenever the hell I want because I was well off enough to afford treatment with no insurance. If you do have insurance, they bill your insurance company $1,500 per day which is an absolute scam. How do you charge double to an insurance company when I was only paying $750 a day? Their bathroom are nasty and same with the floors. You share a room with 3 other same gendered patients which blows. The beds you sleep on actually gave me back problems for my 5 day stay. I’d rather sleep on a price of Home Depot ply wood. The food is a 3.5 / 5 stars and isn’t too bad for hospital food.

I found it very helpful for me, everyone is different the steps will work if you allow them to work for you, if you plan on not taken your medication and not following up with outpatient therapy, yes it can be much cleaner thatst why I gave it a four the staff can be much nicer that's why I gave it a four hour over all! A smile a hello from the staff would not hurt, I'm in the medical field I no a smile and how may I help you can go a long way!!!! Over all thanks to the staff

I was here August 2017 for 2 weeks. I enjoyed it here other than a few patients that were arrogant or annoying. But you gotta understand they have their own issues and you have to bear with them and everyone else there. Making friends was super easy. I'm a shy person and never spoke much here in groups. But when I did you learn a lot about others that are going through what you do and you relate on a lot of levels. The activities there are fun and the food wasn't bad at all. Though you may feel like you're in a prison sometimes, it's not as bad as what others may make it out to be due to their bad experiences. There was only a couple staff that were rude but it seemed like it was for their own personal reasons. The beds aren't too bad either. Fitted sheets would be nice to have there though.lol I mean overall my experience was pleasant and I would return if I ever went down that hole again that I was in at that time.

I was sent here in the summer of 2017, the end of june, start of july. it was a nice place. the people i met in there wouldn't eat until everyone else ate at least a little bit because they had an eating disorder. everyone helped keep each other on track. the staff was funny and nice, i made a lot of good friends there that i still talk to up to this day, 5/3/18. some of the food was nasty but overall it wasn't bad. the showers kinda suck tho. and my room mate was kinda, weird but i knew she was there for the same reason i was so i wasn't going to be mean. i have a lot of friends that have been there and they felt like it helped. i was put on meds and i've been taking them ever since. i wouldn't say i'm cured, but i am doing so much better. idk if they read the reviews ever but if so, thank you so much. i don't think i would be here now if it wasn't for my stay.

I was put in the 2600 Adolescent Unit and I had a pretty good stay. The rooms were pretty cold, food was decent, the staff, nurses, and techs were all very friendly and caring except for one of the techs who was very rude and seemed like she didn’t care about anyone in there. They also have gym and art there and that was one of my favorite parts about my stay and groups were pretty fun too. Overall I thank Windsor Laurelwood so much for helping me become a better person and saving my life!

I've been here 3 Times and My first time I was Very Irritated because I was in another City & County and I felt out of My Comfort Zone. Overwhelmed as usual, I Honestly Appreciated The Help And Stabilization for My Rx-Meds And My Mental Health & Behavioral Issues. The Doctor's Helped Me To Get My Life Back On Track and The Staff Was Amazing When I Was In A Peaceful Mood And Somewhat Stable But I Had My Moments Of A Downward Spiral Which Is How I Ended Up Here At Laurel Windsor Wood Hospital. The Food Is Always Great! It Was Well Worth My Admittance To Receive The Help I Really Needed! Thanks Guyzz!

I had to recently drop my boyfriend off for detox and although we waited a very long time before we were seen, it was worth it. Even the ladies at the front desk were nice. The lady who did his intake (Lesley) was absolutley amazing. Ive been in situations where doctors/counslers just sort of rush you through the process and don't really seem to give a damn but that wasn't the case here. Lesley was patient with us, asked a lot of question and you could tell she really cared. It made his process much easier.
